I am a stay-at-home mom of two boys and because of them I decided to bring their childhood pets to life in children’s books. I’ve earned a journalism degree from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania in 2005. After which, I began my career in a newsroom in Central New York as a copy editor and section designer. After a layoff in 2012, I decided to pursue my passion in animals and became a certified dog trainer and business owner of BARK by Beth LLC. I am very active in my community and volunteer as a canine handler for the county search and rescue team. At home, bedtime stories are very important and I’ve drawn my inspiration from my children, my own dogs and my clients’ dogs. I strive to empower and educate children through strong but adorable, relatable characters that deliver messages about inclusion, self worth and discovery.

My malinois Freya and I volunteer for our local search and rescue team. She is a live find and cadaver canine that I draw a lot of my inspiration from to create my children’s stories.
